The ABRF sponsored a national multidisciplinary summit meeting, "Improving Patient Care through e-Communication in Imaging" August 5-6 in Bethesda, Maryland.

Convener and Catalyst

The Foundation's long-term vision is to tackle issues related to uses of medical imaging and radiation therapy to benefit the public by being a convener and catalyst, as well as a knowledge resource.

Additionally, the ABRF supports the scientific, scholarly and educational goals of the American Board of Radiology.

It fosters research to improve the education, training and assessment of physician and physicist candidates for certification in diagnostic radiology, radiation oncology and radiologic physics; and the discovery, development and improvement of methods to evaluate the cognitive, scientific, clinical and professional qualifications of diplomates.

The Foundation conducts projects to inform the medical profession and the public about certification, sub-specialty certification and maintenance of certification, and about the roles of these processes in improving the quality and safety of healthcare in the radiological sciences.
